Return & Refund Policy

At Curiosity Shelf, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you're not, we make it easy to return items and process refunds.
1. Return Window
You have 30 calendar days from the date of purchase to initiate a return. Returns requested after 30 days will not be accepted. The return date is determined by when we receive your return request, not the postmark date.
2. Eligibility for Returns
Books
- Must be in like-new condition (no bends, creases, water damage, or marked pages)
- All original dust jackets and inserts must be included
- No writing, highlighting, or stickers
- No missing or damaged pages
Non-Book Items
- Must be in original, unused condition with all packaging and tags intact
- Subject to availability and condition verification upon receipt
Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot be returned:
- Items clearly marked as "final sale"
- Personalized or custom-made items
- Items damaged by misuse or neglect
- Items missing required components or original packaging
3. Damaged or Defective Items
If you receive a damaged or defective item, contact us immediately with photos of the damage. We will replace the item or issue a full refund at no cost to you.

4. How to Return an Item
Step 1: Request Authorization
Email us at contact@curiosityshelf.com with:
- Your order number
- Item(s) you wish to return
- Reason for return
Step 2: Receive Return Instructions
We will provide you with a return shipping address and a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Include your RMA number in the return package.
Step 3: Ship the Item
- Securely package the item(s) in original packaging when possible
- Use tracked shipping so you can confirm delivery
- Include your RMA number inside and on the shipping label
- Shipping costs are the customer's responsibility (unless the return is due to our error or defect)
Step 4: Inspection and Approval
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of approval or rejection within 5 business days.
5. Refund Processing
Refund Timeline:
- Once your return is approved, refunds are processed within 5-7 business days
- Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
- Credit card refunds may take an additional 3-5 business days to appear in your account
Refund Amount:
- Full product price refunded (minus original shipping fees)
- Return shipping costs are not refunded unless the return is due to our error
- Restocking fee: No restocking fees are charged
6. Exchanges
If you'd like to exchange an item for a different size, color, or product:
- Initiate a return following the process above
- Once approved, you may place a new order
- Or, contact us to arrange a direct exchange
7. Cancellations
Before Shipment
If your order hasn't shipped yet, we may be able to cancel it. Contact us immediately at contact@curiosityshelf.com.
After Shipment
Once an order has shipped, you cannot cancel it. You may initiate a return following this policy.
8. Exceptions
Non-Returnable Situations:
- Order placed by someone other than the authorized account holder
- Item purchased from another seller and resold through our platform
- Items not in original condition due to normal wear or customer use
- Returns initiated more than 30 days after purchase

10. Lost or Stolen Returns
We are not responsible for returns lost or stolen in transit. Use tracked shipping and consider insurance for high-value items.
11. Final Sale Items
Some items may be marked as "final sale" or "non-returnable." These items cannot be returned except in cases of damage or defect.
